Summer sailings, weekday daytime rentals, late-night celebrations, and dockside winter events can all be discussed.
Summer is our prime time. The sun is shining and we offer a variety of daily cruises to the public so everyone can enjoy what our river valley has to offer.
During the summer months your private rental includes a cruise on the river.
📦 What do I get?
The riverboat is yours. You may decorate the entire boat as you wish, as long as it doesn't damage the riverboat or pollute the environment. We offer our own onboard food and beverage service with a diverse and delicious menu.
🛳️ Sailing
Sailing up and down the North Saskatchewan River is at your discretion, but river and weather conditions can impact our chance to sail. A typical cruise is 1.5 hours long: we depart from Rafter's Landing, head up the river to the High Level Bridge, and then return. Our marine crew is always present for your safety.
⏳ Timing
By default, private rentals span a three-hour block, including one hour for boarding and a 1.5-hour cruise.
Example timeline: guests arrive and food is available, the riverboat sets sail, the boat returns to dock, and final guests depart.
Additional hours may be added to your event for a surcharge. Pre-boarding and set up time depends on your event, and we try our best to accommodate reasonable requests.
🎟️ How much does it cost?
The most affordable way to book a private summer cruise is during weekday daytime hours. Evenings and weekends are filled with our public cruises, so offsetting one of those costs more than when we are not normally sailing.

Winter at the Edmonton Riverboat is magical. We are the only venue in Edmonton's river valley that is actually downtown and on the river. Frozen in place with furnaces ablaze, it is a serene and beautiful place to host your event.

🛳️ Sailing
After September 30, events are held at the dock because the North Saskatchewan River water level drops significantly as the reservoirs controlling the river release less water.
⏳ Timing
During the fall and winter months we do not sail and timelines are very flexible. Most events default to three hours, and we are happy to customize rentals to suit your needs.
Pre-boarding and set up time depends on your event, and we try our best to accommodate reasonable requests.
